Renin is an enzyme released by the kidneys that helps regulate blood pressure and the body’s balance of sodium and fluids.

A renin blood test may help investigate high or low blood pressure, abnormal potassium levels or suspected conditions affecting the adrenal glands, kidneys or fluid balance.
